Rare Bruery sour event at Perch Pub 8/23!

Got word about this incredible event at Perch Pub, 1345 Locust Street, featuring The Bruery from Orange County, California.  The Bruery makes some amazing beers.  Philly gets some of their stuff on a fairly regular basis, but we very rarely get any of their highly-rated sours, particular on draft … until now!  On Thursday, August 23 at 6pm, The Bruery CFO and PA native, Carl Katz, will be at the Perch Pub, and with him will be some very delicious sour treats on draft.

  • Oude Tart is a Flemish-Style Red Ale aged in red wine barrels for 18 months. Pleasantly sour with hints of leather, dark fruit and toasty oak.  It is generally only available at the brewery. 7.5% ABV.  2010 and 2012 World Beer Cup Gold Medal Winner for the Belgian-Style Flanders Oud Brun or Oud Red category.

  • From their Provisions Series collection - The Tart of Darkness - a small batch beer. They brewed a stout (this one is only 5.6% abv ), and then put it into oak barrels with a special blend of souring bacterias and yeasts. The result is a perfectly tart yet awesomely dark and roasty sour stout.

This is going to be an incredible event, featuring some beers that you may never get on draft again in Philly.  Hope to see everyone there.
